In family therapy, you have the opportunity to work together as a family to learn different ways of communicating and solving problems. Another common goal of family therapy is to increase shared activities and quality time together.
Every family and every person has their strengths. I am always curious about your strengths as well as what you want to work on.
Often, people are concerned that counselors will judge or blame them. I believe that people are more likely to make positive changes when they feel supported and accepted. Therefore, I am very nonjudgmental. Being perfect is not necessary; being willing to repair the relationships is all that is needed.
Family Therapy or Individual Therapy?
Sometimes deciding between individual therapy and family therapy can be difficult. Everyone’s situation is somewhat different. I am happy to talk with you to help you determine what would best suit your family.
