My most up-to-date schedule is on my contact page.
Frequency of Appointments
I limit how many people I see each day, so that I can be more present with each person. The downside is that my schedule is less flexible.
Once a week: I normally meet with people at the same time and on the same day each week (for example, 4:00pm on Thursdays every week). Of course, it's okay if people need to miss a week due to illness or vacation. I prefer to meet on a weekly basis, because it seems like people make the most progress that way.
Generally, I only reserve a time/day for people when they come in every week or almost every week.
Twice a week: If you prefer, we can probably arrange more frequent sessions or sometimes longer sessions.
Every other week: If you want to meet less often (such as every other week), I'm willing to consider it if it makes sense therapeutically and if your schedule is very flexible. However, I have noticed that people who come in less often make much less progress, especially if we are just catching up and checking in during the appointments. Every-other-week appointments might work if you are just needing to refine your coping tools or change a minor issue (or if you have been seeing me every week and are almost done with therapy). I don't guarantee a reserved time/day every other week, so your schedule would have to be flexible.
Needing different days/times each week: Sometimes people need a very flexible schedule (i.e., meeting at different times or on different days every week). My schedule is often tight, and it may not be possible for me to be that flexible. Feel free to call me, and we can decide if our schedules are compatible.
Sporadic or one-time appointments: Very occasionally, I see people just once or twice (or sporadically), if they only have questions or a minor issue.
Insurance Information
If you have a PPO or POS plan and your insurance covers out-of-network therapists, your insurance might reimburse you for part of my fee.
I am not on any insurance panels ("in network"), and I do not bill insurance. I am out-of-network.
Since I don't bill insurance, people pay me directly when they come in for therapy. I can give you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Questions to ask your insurance company:
Does my policy cover out-of-network providers for psychotherapy (50 minute sessions, CPT code 90834-95 for individual psychotherapy)?
Does my policy cover Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists?
Does it matter if it’s in-person sessions or telehealth?
What is the reimbursement rate for individual psychotherapy (50 minute sessions, CPT code 90834-95 for individual psychotherapy)? Is there a maximum allowed charge for a psychotherapy session?
What is my deductible for out-of-network providers?
How many sessions per calendar year are covered? Is my diagnosis included in the Mental Health Parity Act, and does that allow me to have more sessions covered by insurance?
Is pre-approval necessary?
I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for therapy, but these questions should give you more information about your coverage.
Good Faith Estimate Notice: People who don’t have insurance (or who are not using their insurance) have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate. You can read more here.
