PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) is a reaction to a traumatic event. It can include fear, stress, avoidance of triggers, distressing memories, nightmares, flashbacks, dissociation, a startle response, hypervigilance, negative thoughts, self-blame, shame, anger, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, and other distressing issues. Of course, lots of people with PTSD don’t experience all of these issues.
PTSD & EMDR Therapy
There are several ways to heal from PTSD. EMDR therapy is an evidence-based approach to healing from PTSD. I often use EMDR therapy, because it works so well for resolving past trauma.
