Self-Esteem & Self-Confidence
Self-esteem and self-confidence can be affected by many things. People struggling with low self-esteem and self-confidence do not see the whole truth about themselves. They are unable to completely see their own strengths and value, even if other people are able to see them.
Many people have more compassion for others than they do for themselves, and they are usually less critical of others than they are of themselves. People also tend to compare their insides to other people's outsides. You might assume that other people are self-assured, even if they are actually feeling doubtful inside. This can lead people to feel worse about themselves.
Self-esteem is a changeable quality. You might even notice that sometimes you feel okay about yourself and sometimes you don't. You deserve to feel better all of the time!
Therapy Can Help Improve Self-Esteem & Self-Confidence
Therapy can help you improve your self-esteem and self-confidence and feel better about yourself.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can help you heal from past events that affect self-esteem and self-confidence.
Cognitive behavioral therapy can help you counter negative beliefs and develop more objective beliefs.
With hypnosis or guided meditation, you can access your own strengths and visualize how to feel better.
Mindfulness exercises can help you feel more grounded and centered, which often helps improve self-esteem.
It's also useful to begin to notice when you are not struggling with self-esteem or self-confidence issues. Do you feel better when you are doing a certain activity or when you are with a particular person?
